Excerpts from a book published by Ufuoma Akpojivi in the United Kingdom note the following statements made by Raphael Adebayo as the National Secretary of the OurMumuDonDo Movement:
There is a lot of political apathy right now in the system. [B]etween 1999 and 2015, you will realize if you check [that] the number of people who have been getting their PVC has been on the rise but the number of people who eventually go to the polling booth [has] consistently declined, and this is so because people are tired of being promised the same thing all the time and not getting it. People are tired of being deceived and being lied to, they are tired of being disrespected by a group of people who know nothing but their vested interests.
Adebayo further added:
We just launched a campaign called the social contract [initiative... which aims to] return the ownership of the democratic process back to the people, [giving them the power] to demand things that are critical to them from everybody seeking political office... the social contract will increase citizens' participation in [the] democratic process...
